POSITION: PROJECT MANAGER

LOCATION: PITTSBURGH, PA

 

SUMMARY:

The Elevator Management Services (EMS) Project Manager is development position with the goal of becoming a technical elevator consultant. Through real-time experience the employee will learn the innerworkings and mechanics of how elevators and escalators function. The position will: assist with drafting modernization and maintenance specifications, overseeing project progression, act as a liaison with clients and elevator maintenance companies. The expectation is the candidate will acquire a QEI certified elevator inspector license.  The ideal candidate will have a willingness to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBIITIES:

  • Assist with identifying deficiencies and drafting modernization and maintenance specifications for vertical transportation
  • Manage construction progression with elevator maintenance companies
  • Serve as a liaison with clients and elevator maintenance companies
  • Provide timely and accurate progress reports to EMS leadership and clients
  • With completion of QEI Inspector’s License inspect elevator and escalator equipment to verify it is operating in accordance with all applicable jurisdiction code requirements and manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Examine equipment and site to identify possible defects and faults in equipment, maintenance, machine room, hoistway and pit.
  • Witness of standard testing methods to ensure equipment operation meets established code requirements.
  • Complete deficiency and test reports and submits to the state.
  • Operate in accordance with established safety practices.

 ESSTENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills.
  • Excellent writing and verbal communications skills
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office software applications

PREFFERED JOB REQUIREMENTS/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Two to Five years’ experience in the elevator industry with a working knowledge of elevator mechanics, maintenance, repairs, and testing of elevator systems.
  • Possession of a current QEI ( Qualified Elevator Inspector) certification

WORK ENVIROMENT:

  • Project Manager will work approximately 50% of their time in an office setting and 50% off-site at a commercial building setting such as: offices, hospitals, universities, apartments, and industrial sites.
  • Position requires physical ability to climb ladders and ride on top of elevator unit to inspect.
